Thousands flock to Jubilee

Brighton Beach brimmed with seasonal fun, wooing mom, dad and the kids to one of “Little Odessa’s” premier street fairs, the Brighton Jubilee.

The 33rd the annual spectacle, presented by the Brighton Neighborhood Association, featured rides, games of chance, vendor stalls and eye-popping attractions, which transformed the intersection of Brighton Beach and Coney Island avenues into a vibrant corridor of local activity and enterprise.

Brooklyn’s brawniest gave muscleman %u2013 and women %u2013 challengers a run for their money during an arm wrestling contest in front of 1002 Coney Island Avenue, which piqued the curiosity of dozens of contenders and drew cheers from a throng of spectators.

The winners, who received cash prizes, were Giorgi Gelashvili of Sheepshead Bay and Cobble Hill resident Joyce Boone.
