A sun-kissed autumn lark %u2013 and then some %u2013 was in store for revelers as they marched to the jaunty beat of Brooklyn’s premier party, the Atlantic Antic.
Festivities for the 35th annual street spectacle drew an estimated million fall frolickers from across the borough and beyond to sample the best of Brooklyn at scores of vantage points, including hundreds of exhibitor booths and multiple stages of live performance, from Hicks Street to Fourth Avenue.
Merrymakers kicked off the outdoor extravaganza %u2013 sponsored by Atlantic Avenue Local Development Corporation %u2013 with a parade, traversing the entire length of the festival.
Showstoppers lining the route included an assortment of entertainers; among them, mime artists, strolling jugglers, clowns and dancing acrobats.
Elsewhere along the merry boulevard belly dancers and jazz musicians joined festive forces with other local talent to hurrahs from the admiring throngs.
Additional highlights included the New York Transit Museum’s annual bus festival, featuring vintage buses dating as far back as 1917.
