Oh the iron knee!

Three metalworkers went to the hospital with broken legs after a steel plate fell off a truck at a Greenwood Heights ironworks on May 9.

The errant ferrous slab came crashing down a little after 8 am at the facility on 21st Street near Third Avenue, Fire Department officials said.

Cut-offs: Firefighters had to clip the men’s pants to free them.

All three victims had broken legs, according to a photographer who spoke to paramedics on the scene.

Emergency responders took the men to Lutheran Medical Center in serious but stable condition, a department spokeswoman said.
