A truck driver crushed and killed a pedestrian on Caton Avenue in Ditmas Park before driving away apparently none-the-wiser on Wednesday evening, cops said.
The slain pedestrian was crossing the street near St. Paul’s Place at 8:25 pm, when the driver hit her with the rear wheels of his truck’s trailer, according to police.
Paramedics arrived later to find the woman had severe head and body wounds, but their attempts to resuscitate her failed and they declared her dead at the scene, cops said.
The truck driver motored off and police found him elsewhere. Investigators declined to arrest him after he said he didn’t realize he’d hit the woman, according to police sources.
