Firefighters were called to the Prospect Expressway Saturday night after two cars collided near the Fourth Avenue exit ramp. Officials said that the accident took place on the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel-bound side of the span at 10 p.m. on April 26, causing at least one of the vehicles to spin out of control and slam into the side of a Fifth Avenue supporter pillar. One of the drivers was seriously injured and was taken to Lutheran Medical Center. The cause of the accident was still under investigation as this paper went to press.
