‘Two Gentlemen of Verona’

From May 1-11, the Brooklyn College Department of Theater presents William Shakespeare’s “The Two Gentlemen of Verona,” directed by Valerie Clayman Pye, an alumna of the college. Performances will take place at The Gershwin Theater on the Brooklyn College campus.

“The Two Gentlemen of Verona” tells the story of Valentine and Proteus, two young friends who travel from Verona to Milan and together learn about love, friendship, and what it means to be a gentleman. One of the Bard’s earliest works, “The Two Gentlemen of Verona” contains the first examples of the romance, wit, and bawdy humor that define Shakespearean comedy.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m., May 1-3 and May 8-10; and at 2 p.m., May 3-4 and 10-11. Tickets are $12; $10 for seniors and $5 for students with ID.
