Dozens of mourners clogged the streets of Borough Park last week to bid farewell to a father and son killed in a tragic accident at a Queens sewage plant.
Shlomo Dahan, 49, and his 23-year-old son, Harel, both residents of Georgetowne, were killed when they were overcome by toxic fumes inside an 18-foot cesspool at the plant, which the family owned.
Witnesses said that Harel fell into the cesspool first. His father died as he tried to pull his trapped son out. A third person was also killed during the fatal rescue operation, officials said.
Prayers for Dahan and his son were held at Shomrei Hadas Chapel on 14th Avenue at 38th Street.
Friends and family said that the two were buried in Israel.
