Unknown man found dead in the waters off Brighton Beach

The police are seeking the public’s assistance identifying a man who was found dead in the water near Brighton Beach on the morning of Aug. 6.

The authorities released a sketch of the victim and described him as white, 35-45 years old, with brown hair, wearing black Leo Poldo boxer briefs and a black leather bracelet with an iron cross in the middle.

At 10:27 am on Aug. 6, police responded to a 911 call about a body floating in the water within the confines of the 61st Precinct.

The Harbor Patrol recovered the unconscious and unresponsive man and moved the body to the Kingsborough Community College dock where he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and a cause of death has yet to be determined, police said.
