UPDATE! Tonight’s canceled Kenny Vance show is rescheduled!

Tonight’s canceled Kenny Vance show has been rescheduled for Aug. 30.

Details are sketchy, but a spokesman for Councilman Domenic Recchia just told us that the lawmaker has come up with the new date for the doo-wop legend to perform at Asser Levy Park in Coney Island.

The original cancelation, hours before the show, was a real bummer, given that the summer concert by Vance, one of the founding members of the seminal rock group Jay and the Americans, has become a seasonal rite at the outdoor Coney Island venue.

“I like playing there because it’s my hometown,” Vance, who climbed the Billboard charts back in the day with songs like “She Cried,” “Come a Little Bit Closer,” and “This Magic Moment,” told us last week, before the abrupt cancelation.

“When we perform today, the audience is transported back into time. They treat us like we’re teen idols and gives us an extra jolt of energy.”

Well, as we say in Brooklyn: Wait ’til next week!
