‘Tis the season for holiday giveaways and turkey dinners.

Council Member Inna Vernikov and her team hosted a Thanksgiving food giveaway outside her Sheepshead Bay headquarters on Nov. 18. Under the bright and sunny November sky, residents and neighbors formed lines that wrapped around the block to receive kosher and halal turkeys, as well as hot halal meals, just in time for the holiday season.

Volunteers and staff members of pol helped distribute food and spread holiday cheer.

Local comedian Gary Suharik, better known as Baba Fira, stopped by to entertain families. His appearance delighted everyone, offering up humor, turkeys and Russian recipe tips from the old country.
