Foot loose

An unlucky man escaped a terrifying situation on Smith Street on Oct. 20 — but he fled so fast that he managed to leave behind his sneakers.

Two perps approached the victim at the corner of Baltic Street at 9:15 pm and one pulled what appeared to be a gun from the waistband of his pants, according to the District Attorney’s office.

The other crook grabbed the man by the collar, but victim managed to escape his grasp and fled — however his shoes fell off during his getaway.

When the victim returned to the scene, his sneakers were gone.

Cops apprehended one suspect, but the man accused of carrying a gun remains on the lam.

Broken glass

Police officers say they caught a car thief in the act on Hicks Street on Nov. 13.

Investigators claim they spotted a man climbing out of the shattered passenger window of a 2010 Toyota Tundra at the corner of Warren Street at around 12:30 am.

Cops cuffed the 45-year-old suspect, who they claim was covered in broken glass, according to documents from the District Attorney’s office.

The man faces charges of burglary, possession of burglar’s tools, criminal mischief, unauthorized use of a vehicle, and trespassing.
