One world, one breath.

Prospect Park provided a serene sanctaury for zen−seekers, who united in body and spirit at the emerald empire to celebrate World Tai Chi Day.

Martial artists from the Brooklyn Kung Fu & Tai Chi Academy, 8 Windsor Place, helped observe the eleventh anniversary of the world−wide spectacle by joining practitioners from more than 60 nations – at the stroke of 10 a.m. – to generate Qi (life energy) and create a wave of Tai Chi energy aimed at circling the globe, one hour at a time, as the day progressed.

According to practitioners of the internal Chinese martial art, Tai Chi helps counteract stress and anxiety by calming the mind and slowing the release of tension−related hormones.
