An open car window gave a thief easy pickings on Smith Street on March 31.
The driver of the car told cops that he pulled over near the corner of President Street at around 7 pm and ran into a store for “just five minutes.”
When he came out, he discovered that a thief had stolen his city parking placard and a credit card.
Trunk junk
A thief walked off with hundreds of dollars in high-end accessories — plus a laptop — after breaking into a car on Clinton Street during the day on April 3.
The car’s owner told cops that she returned to the block between Amity and Congress streets at around 8 pm to discover that the thief had broken into her trunk and stolen handbags, suitcases, pocketbooks, shoes, a jacket and an HP laptop.
