Cops found a woman dead in the bathroom of her South Williamsburg apartment this weekend in a gruesome scene they say was murder by suffocation.
Officers discovered the body of 32-year-old Melissa Torres at 7:30 am Sunday in her apartment on the ground floor of the Taylor-Wythe Houses, at the corner of Clymer Street and Wythe Avenue. The cops came to check on Torres after friends called to say they were worried about her, police said.
Emergency services took her to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police said they have someone in custody in relation to the murder, but that the person has not yet been charged.
