Four thugs attacked a woman from behind on Lincoln Place and ran off with her purse at 5:50 pm on Jan. 22.
Cops say the perps approached their victim as she was near the corner of Seventh Avenue, and hit her over the head.
The bag contained the woman’s cellphone.
Dejeweled
A burglar busted into a Prospect Park West apartment on Jan. 23 and stole a pair of diamond earrings and assorted electronic equipment, cops said.
The 34-year-old resident of the third-floor apartment, at 13th Street, told police that the perp or perps had broken in through a security gate and entered through a bedroom window.
iPod iGone
A clumsy thief entered a Fifth Avenue apartment on Jan. 22 and stole electronic equipment and destroyed a woman’s laptop computer in the process, cops said.
The 27-year-old resident discovered the break-in when she returned home just after midnight on Jan. 23
Big bills
A woman not only had her purse stolen, but later discovered that the thief had run up more than $2,000 in credit card charges before she could cancel her accounts.
The 61-year-old victim, who lives on 12th Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues, said she didn’t notice for several days that her wallet had been stolen.
By the time she alerted the authorities, the perp had charged $2,229.17 at Target, Duane Reade, Marshalls and Hertz. The perp also purchased a monthly Metrocard for $76.
Ozzburned
The dog didn’t eat this man’s homework, but he still has a good excuse: thugs stole it.
A 39-year-old Garfield Place man told police that he was on his way to Ozzie’s coffee shop to do some work for school at 3 pm on Jan. 26 when a thug approached from behind and slugged him with a closed fist.
In a scuffle, the perp grabbed the man’s book bag, which contained “books and school papers,” according to the police report of the attack, which occurred near the corner of Fifth Avenue.
