Caught ya
A clumsy thief tried to snatch some fancy clothes from a store on Fifth Avenue on Oct. 12.
The owner of Malik Sportswear near 13th Street told cops that he spotted a crook — and three partners — sneaking out of the shop at 4:05 pm with $1,600 worth of True Religion jeans, a pair of $420 Nudie Jeans and a bunch of Polo shirts.
The owner then tried to stop the thieves, but one of the thugs shoved him and ran out of the store. That’s when the gutsy merchant chased him down — and then held the thug near 12th Street until cops came.
Police arrested a 22-year-old suspect the same day. They are now hunting three more 25-year-old alleged crooks.
Muffin monster
A jerk stole a wallet from a woman at Connecticut Muffin on Seventh Avenue on Oct. 11.
The victim told cops she popped into the First Street bakery at 10:40 am. She reached into her purse an hour later — then discovered her wallet gone along with a credit card and a driver’s license inside.
Charity nab
A thief swiped a wallet from a woman at a non-profit on 14th Street on Oct. 13.
The 23-year-old victim told cops that she left her bag behind a chair in an office at Community Outreach Programs near Fourth Avenue at 8:45 am. She returned at 4:30 pm and discovered it gone — along with the Visa and health insurance cards inside.
