2,765 Newborn babies and counting….

It’s official. Lutheran Medical Center recognizes another 125th anniversary birth — the 2,765th baby born this year.

In celebration of Lutheran’s 125th anniversary, every 125th child born throughout the year will be honored with gifts and prizes. Each anniversary baby receives a special gift and a chance to win an end-of-the-year savings bond raffle for $1,250.

The 2,765th birth of 2008, Alejandro Sebastian Ortega-Lopez, was delivered to proud mother Ingrid Y. Lopez-Ortega and her husband Luis Alejandro Ortega. Alejandro is now officially part of Lutheran Medical Center history as he joins his family in Brooklyn.

Since 1883, even before Brooklyn consolidated into the City of New York, Lutheran Medical Center, 150 55th Street, has been on the front lines of community health providing direct support to those in need. That remains at the heart of the health care system’s mission today. As part of the year-long celebration, the medical center will commemorate its continued commitment and dedication to the community with anniversary events throughout 2008.

Current anniversary community outreach lectures, screenings, education and prevention opportunities are listed through September and be found online at www.lutheranmedicalcenter.com.
