Join the fun at the 29th Richmond County Fair, returning for another spectacular year, September 5, 6, & 7.
More than 25,000 visitors are expected to join in the festivities, entertainment, food, contests, crafts, exhibits, shopping and living history demonstrations that represent the city’s only country fair. The Richmond County Fair combines traditional features like cotton candy, pie-eating and hot dog eating contests, and a flower & vegetable contest, with a mix of contemporary and retro entertainment.
The fair will present an array of attractions for the whole family; you will see Robinson’s Racing Pigs, Pony Rides, Skin & Bones Comedy Circus — a unique presentation of animals, skill and comedy, and a petting zoo, to name a few. Enjoy visiting Dora the Explorer and Diego on Saturday & Sunday at the Time Warner Cable booth.
Entertainment includes one of the best Beatles cover bands, “Beatlemania,” plus you’ll hear and see other great entertainment by SteveSongs, The Nashville Attitude, Vito Picone and the Elegants, Live Music by Paris and many more.
All proceeds benefit the educational programs of the Staten Island Historical Society and the preservation of Historic Richmond Town.
Special incentives include Friday Night Rides on September 5 from 6-11 p.m. with a one price admission for amusement rides and at 8 p.m., a free family movie, “Looney Tunes: Back in Action.” On September 6-7, the fair is open, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; rides remain open until 10 p.m. on Saturday.
Admission is $15 per person per day; kids 34 inches and under are admitted free. The cost includes admission to grounds, unlimited amusement rides (bungee jump and animal rides not included), entertainment on three stages, contests, and visits to the historic building. Senior admission (60+) is $10 per person per day and excludes rides.
It all happens at Historic Richmondtown, 441 Clarke Avenue on Staten Island; call 718-351-1611 extension 244 or visit www.historicrichmondtown.org.
