Barking about parking

One Bensonhurst man attacked another over a parking spot on Feb. 20.

According to police, the pair got into a verbal argument at 7:55 p.m. near 78th Street and 21st Avenue. As tensions rose, one hothead choked the other out, cutting off his breathing. He then punched him in the mouth.

Forged and defrauded

One scammer stole thousands from southern Brooklyn resident last month. 

The victim told police an unknown scammer opened a second bank account at a Santander Bank branch by forging the victim’s signature. The thief then transferred $510,000 from an existing account to the new one.  The victim said he never permitted anyone to transfer funds. 

Pranked through prayer

A woman robbed another in Bath Beach near Cropsey Avenue and 15th Avenue on Feb. 22. 

Police said the 80-year-old was walking home from the bus when a woman pulled up next to her at 1:15 p.m. and asked to pray with her.  The victim said the woman hugged her, and as they embraced, removed her chain and bracelet and replaced the necklace with costume jewelry. 

What a tool

Someone stole from a work truck off 16 Avenue and Cropsey Avenue on Feb. 20. 

The victim told police he parked his car on the street but when he returned at 7 p.m. he noticed the passenger side window was broken in and his work tools were missing. 

Police said they may have footage of the crime but are unable to see it so far.
