They were dressed to the vampire teeth!

Coney Kids got to try out their Halloween costumes a few weeks early at the Fall Festival in Kaiser Park on Oct. 17. The holiday-inspired, kids-friendly bonanza of food and games was more than parents could have asked for, but a Halloween costume contest that gave the kids an opportunity to get a little extra millage out of their spooky outfits was the best part, one mom said.

“If they get to wear their Halloween costume more than once, they’re happy,” said Gravesend mom Kristine Gattuso, whose daughter Kristina, 8, came dressed as a little devil.

City Councilman Mark Treyger organized the event, which treated kids to a bevy of Autumn treats such as hot chocolate and hot — virgin — apple cider, along with apple, pumpkin, and sweet potato pies, according to Treyger spokesman Eric Faynberg, who defected from this paper to work for the councilman in September. The pint-sized ghoulish guys and gals also got to paint pumpkins and have their own faces painted, he said.

Treyger hopes to make the party an annual affair, the councilman said.

“It’s the start of a new tradition!” he said.

The big event was a great way of advertising a park that not a lot of people know about, said Gattuso, a life-long Brooklynite who only just discovered Kaiser Park a few years ago.

“I’ve lived in Brooklyn my whole life and never new it existed,” she said. “It’s a beautiful park and most people don’t know about it, so it was kind of nice to have our own community place and have some place to go.”

America’s hero: You might assume that’s Steve Rogers, but it’s actually 6-year-old Aldin Abdushi beneath the Captain America mask.
