Brooklyn’s One World Symphony opens its 2008/2009 season with “Italian Summer,” September 5 & 7. Under the baton of conductor Sung Jin Hong, The Symphony will perform Respighi’s “Pines of Rome,” Vivaldi’s “Summer” Concerto from “The Four Seasons,” and a semi-staged performance of Mascagni’s verismo opera “Cavalleria Rusticana.”
Performances are September 5, 8 p.m. at St. Ann and the Holy Trinity, 157 Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights and again on September 7, 7:30 p.m. at Ansche Chesed Synagogue, 251 West 100th Street in Manhattan. Tickets are $40; $30 for students and seniors.
