Apartment complex residents have a merry Christmas party

Those condo folk in East New York sure know how to party.

Holiday spirit was in full swing at the Meadowwood at Gateway complex on Flatlands Avenue, between Vermont and Van Siclen avenues, where dwellers teamed for an outdoor tree-lighting followed a day later by a revel inside the apartment complex for the sales staff.

Associate Manager Earl Satahoo donned a Santa hat and dispensed the cheer, which included plenty of activities for the kids — complete with food, games and prizes.

“They didn’t leave until one in the morning,” laughed Jean-Paul Ho, vice president at Fillmore Real Estate and the person in charge at the complex.

Festivities included a sweet serenade by a choir from Preston High School in the Bronx, which endeared itself to listeners by singing a capella for about half an hour, said Ho.

He added that the dwelling has become a near neighborhood of its own since opening two years ago with 400 units sold so far — one reason for the large turn out for the holiday party.

“We’ve become more of a community now,” he said.

The tree illumination was Meadowood’s way of spreading the festive wealth, Ho said.

“In this economy with people losing their jobs and home, it’s important to give back.”
