The B4 is back.

The MTA told civic leaders this morning that the B4 bus will once again service Sheepshead Bay — but only after the agency was handed a petition signed by 2,000 commuters demanding their bus back.

“This is a huge victory for the community,” said Assemblyman Steven Cymbrowitz. “After numerous conversations with MTA Chairman Lhota, a Town Hall meeting, and delivering 2,000 signatures on a petition, we were able to get it restored.”

The B4 is expected to begin making stops at Emmons Avenue, Shore Parkway, and Knapp Street — which were axed in 2010 — before the year is out.

If the legislator had his way, however, residents will be riding the B4 in no time.

“I’m certainly looking to have it done a lot sooner,” Cymbrowitz said.
