Social insecurity

The victim told police that the scammer called her at her apartment between 21st Avenue and Bay Parkway at 10:30 a.m., and had claimed to be an officer from the 69th precinct. The phony told the victim that her name had been associated with money laundering and drug tracking in Texas, and advised her to get a new social security number, she told police. Meanwhile, the crook’s co-conspirator convinced the victim to transfer her money into a Chase Bank account, taking all her cash, authorities report.

The victim told police that she heard the filcher in her kitchen between Benson Avenue and 86th Street at around 1:45 a.m. The woman went to the kitchen to find her window open and her wallet and credit card gone, police say.

Romano Lane and Bay 44th Street at 3:10 p.m., he discovered the crook had broken into the back door and thrown his tomatoes, green grapes, and red grapes on the ground. Police claim that the food filcher fled, and no suspects have been found.
