Dead body found floating in waters off Red Hook

Authorities pulled a woman’s dead body out of the waters off Red Hook on Monday morning.

A fisherman spotted the woman — who appeared to be in her 30s — while he was out on the water near Valentino Pier at around 10:10 am and called 911, police said.

Officers from the police department’s Harbor Unit arrived shortly after and brought her body to shore, where paramedics pronounced her dead.

The medical examiner has not determined the cause of her death, but there were no visible injuries to the woman’s body, according to police.
