Wu-Tang is forever!

The New York City Department of Transportation is honoring the legacy of hip-hop icons with a limited-edition street sign celebrating the legendary music group Wu-Tang Clan.

Hip-hop fans can get their hands on one of these limited signs for $75. All orders must be placed online; customers are limited to one sign each. With only 100 in stock  — 50 green signs and 50 custom black and yellow posters — the nameplates are sure to fly off the shelves quickly.

Many longtime rap fans still revere Wu-Tang Clan’s classic 1993 debut album, “Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers),” as a cornerstone of hip-hop culture. The group’s name comes from the 1983 martial arts film Shaolin and Wu-Tang. They often blended the worlds of kung-fu, comic books, and street life into their unique style.

“The Wu-Tang Clan’s rhyme schemes and lyrical styles were influential in hip-hop history and gave voice to their New York City roots,” said DOT commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez, said in a statement. “The Wu-Tang Clan is a legendary part of Staten Island’s North Shore, and now fans can own an authentic piece of our city to honor their legacy.”

According to Louis A. Molina, commissioner for the Department of Citywide Administrative Services, the release allows New York fans to hold a piece of hip-hop history in their own homes.

“Critically acclaimed and cultural juggernauts, the Wu-Tang Clan have been a global fixture in hip-hop for decades. Now is your chance to make them a fixture in your home, office, or favorite place with this exciting signage release,” Molina said. “Bring home a piece of New York history today exclusively through our CityStore.”

Signs are for sale at the CityStore website, and proceeds will benefit the city’s general fund. The exclusive street signs are hand-made at the NYC DOT Sign Shop, which produces over 70,000 signs every year.

The department has been rolling out monthly sign drops since June. The drops feature icons of New York City culture, historic streets and commemorations of noteworthy individuals, including tributes to the Beastie Boys, Notorious B.I.G. and Yankees legend Mariano Rivera.

Now, fans of Wu-Tang Clan have the same opportunity to snag a piece of beloved New York history.
