Canine lovers are invited to bring their dogs to the Brooklyn Cyclones’ annual “Bark in the Park” game, August 11.
The Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals and Maddie’s Fund will have a pet adoption van parked outside the ballpark from 4 p.m. until the end of the game (rain or shine) to find welcoming homes for eager dogs and cats awaiting adoption. Low cost microchipping for pets also will be available, a quick process that greatly increases chances of finding your pet if he or she gets lost.
The game begins at 7 p.m. but ticketholders and others interested in adopting a pet are encouraged to arrive early to meet the dogs and cats from Animal Care & Control (AC&C) who are awaiting adoption. Watch Maddie, the Maddie’s Fund’s 6-foot Miniature Schnauzer mascot, fire up the crowds, pose for photos with the kids and throw out the first pitch at 6:35 p.m. The bleacher section of the stadium will be blocked off for those who wish to bring their pooches to the game.
In addition, the first 2,500 fans to walk through the gates that night will receive a collective Maverick the Wonderdog Bobblehead, depicting the Cyclones’ canine mascot, presented by the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals and Maddie’s Fund.
