Genesis Lodge #64 of the Knights of Pythias, an international, non-sectarian fraternal order, has elected new officers and Eric Platt of Gravesend has been elected Chancellor Commander of the local lodge.
Other officers elected were Past Assistant Chief Deputy Grand Chancellor of Gravesend as vice chancellor; Past Deputy Grand Chancellor Sir Sid Wieder of Howard Beach as secretary; Sid Korman of Howard Beach as financial secretary; Past Deputy Grand Chancellor Lewis Smith of East Rockaway as treasurer; Past Chancellor Charles Stein of Ocean Parkway as master of work; Errol Lewis of Gravesend as prelate; Past Assistant Chief Deputy Grand Chancellor Michael Stein of Woodhaven as master-at-arms; Charles Schrier of Coney Island as Inner Guard; David Wilensky of Coney Island as outer guard; and Past Chief Deputy Grand Chancellor Jerry Bale of Ocean Parkway as alternate.
The Trustees are Past Assistants Chief Deputy Grand Chancellor Gregory Posniack of Midwood and Past Chancellor Noah Plotkin of Gravesend; and Lowell Goldberg, past chancellor of Mill Basin.
The new officers were installed by Norman Green, deputy grand chancellor of the 46th Pythian District.
The Genesis Lodge meets on second and fourth Wednesday of each month at Temple Emanu-El of Canarsie, 1880 Rockaway Parkway between Avenues M and N.
The Knights of Pythias fraternal order has more than 10,000 members and more than 50 lodges throughout New York State.
