Williamsburg, Brooklyn will get a bit brighter with the grand opening of Light-Up Brooklyn, an unprecedented lighting concept shop, whose inception will be marked with an Oktoberfest block party celebration from 2-8 p.m., October 17.
Light-Up Brooklyn, one of the web’s largest and most popular lighting stores, upscalelighting.com, will make its way from the internet to a sleek, new“brick & mortar” lighting store in one of Brooklyn’s most exciting neighborhoods.
The store promises to be the first of its kind.With an innovative new shopping formula, Light-Up will make it possible to browseupscalelighting.com and any other competitors’ websites while in the store on special customer computer kiosks. The web element gives access to more than 150,000 lights from more than 100 manufacturers, many of which will be available to view and purchase in the store.
As part of the opening celebration, friend and neighbor Dawn Ladd and her team at Aurora Lampworks will erect a nine foot, all copper signature sputnik lamp which will be on display from October 17th-November 7th at the new store.
Light-Up Brooklyn is located at 174 North 11th Street between Bedford and Driggs avenues in Williamsburg andwill be open daily, Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
