Two women attacked two other women in an early morning, alcohol-induced, knock-down, drag-out brawl at a popular 24-hour diner on Fifth Avenue on April 27.
Two women were injured and two others arrested for assault in the incident, which began at around 4:40 am.
“Basically, it was a drunken cheeseburger deluxe,” said one 78th Precinct officer.
According to police, two women were eating at the diner, which is between Ninth and 10th streets, when two others entered after a night of clubbing.
One of the newcomers was drunk, and at some point, she picked up a bottle and threw it at one of the victims’ head.
This apparently prompted her partner in crime to pick up a fork and stab the other victim about the head and face.
The 25- and 44-year-old perps were arrested.
Ka-ching!
Like a latter-day Willie Sutton, a gun-toting thief knew where the money was on April 25, hitting up a man after he left a Ninth Street check-cashing store on April 25.
The 42-year-old victim had cashed the check at the store, at the busy corner of Fourth Avenue, at around 4:15 pm. But the perp followed him two blocks east, to the much more desolate corner of Second Avenue, where he pulled his black revolver and said, “Give me your money.”
After the victim turned over the still-warm $318, the perp hopped on a motorcycle driven by an accomplice and sped off.
Easy pickings
Here they are, folks: Four more reasons why you should always keep your wallet in your pocket.
• On April 21, a hospital worker told cops that she put her wallet on her Sixth Street desk — “in plain view” — at around 4 am, but when she returned, the billfold was missing a credit card, and $500 in charges had already been rung up.
• On April 23, a 30-year-old woman lounging in Prospect Park placed her wallet “on the grass” at around 8:30 pm near the zoo. When she returned a few hours later, the wallet, which contained $200 and assorted cards, was gone. She also lost her cellphone.
• A worker at a Union Street nail salon slipped out of the place for a few minutes on April 23 at around 7 pm, leaving her wallet “on the counter.” When she returned to the salon, which is between Sixth and Seventh avenues, the wallet was gone — and so was the $300 and various cards.
• A quick-moving thief grabbed a 36-year-old woman’s wallet after she left it on the table of a Sixth Avenue diner at around 1 pm on April 25. She told cops that she didn’t see who grabbed the billfold off the table at the eater, which is near 13th Street. But she did know what she lost: the $150 wallet, $40 cash and various cards.
Too young
A Parade Place girl who should have no experience with crime at her age was a pickpocket’s easy mark on April 18.
The 10-year-old’s mother told cops that her daughter was on the way to MS 51 on Sixth Avenue, but by the time she got to the school, between Fourth and Fifth streets, someone had stolen her cellphone.
Compuburg
A thief broke into a Ninth Street apartment on April 21 and got away with electronics worth about $3,500.
The 35-year-old tenant of the apartment, which is between Fifth and Sixth avenues, told cops that she went to the post office at 1 pm and came back just one hour later to find that her laptop and digital camera were gone.
Road enrage
At least one car and two bikes were stolen off Park Slope streets last week:
• A 2005 Yamaha chopper was stolen off Warren Street sometime after 1 am on April 26. The 24-year-old owner told cops he’d parked it between Fourth and Fifth avenues. He also lost a helmet and a football.
• A book-lover who locked his bike to a stand in front of the Brooklyn Public Library’s Central Branch on Grand Army Plaza on April 24 left the building to find that his Trek mountain bike had been taken.
Security guards did see the perp clip the lock and take the $1,200 bike, but they couldn’t catch him.
• A 1999 Mercury Sable was taken from a space on Ninth Street between Second and Third avenues at around 3 pm on April 22 after the owner left the keys in the ignition.
