Starter Chris Hilliard got his league-leading eighth win against just one loss with six sparkling innings, giving up just one run on five hits and striking out six.

Hilliard’s performance let the Cyclone bats slide a bit, though the team did put up six runs on six hits.

The first run scored in the second on a bases-loaded walk.

Two more runs came in during the third inning thanks to an error, a wild pitch and another bases-loaded walk.

The fifth inning at least saw some firepower with newcomer Patrick Farrell hitting a two-run dinger, his first of the year.

The final run scored on Will Cherry’s SAC fly.

The Cyclones’ first-place lead is held at nine-and-a-half games with just 16 left to play.
