Kings County is protecting its crowns!
The Brooklyn Public Library will give away hundreds of free bicycle helmets at its Central branch on Thursday.
The Library is riding tandem with the Department of Transportation to provide free cranium cases to the first 400 heads that show up, along with a personalized fitting to make sure the helmets are snug and safe around every noggin.
The helmet handout is part of the Library’s annual Bike the Branches fund-raising exercise, in which library lovers pay to pedal along 11 different themed routes from library to library around the borough. This year’s routes includes a tasting trail of foodie hotspots and a tour of public art.
