A pregnant woman rushed to a Canarsie hospital on Feb. 8 — only to look down and discover she’d given birth to a baby girl on the way!
“All I heard was a baby crying under my butt, I had to lift myself up because she was under there,” said Cypress Hills resident Tayshaunia Fason. “It just happened so quick I didn’t feel any pain, contractions, or anything.”
Fason started feeling pains at around 11 pm on Friday night that she chalked up to gas, but eventually realized early the next morning that they were contractions — by that stage just one minute apart — and told her sister to hustle her to Brookdale Hospital.
They stepped on the gas, but when they got there 30 minutes later at around 6:15 am, Fason looked down to find her daughter’s head had started to emerge.
Fason pulled down her pants and the rest of baby Kali Sanai-Carolyn just came out, she said.
“When I got right to the back of Brookdale her head was already out, I started pushing and her whole body came out,” she said.
Fason began to scream and so did her baby — a sign of good health, she says.
Her sister went inside and got a professional to come cut and clamp the umbilical cord before wheeling both mother and daughter inside.
The delivery wasn’t the only remarkable part of the birth — Fason says she’d had one of her fallopian tubes removed and was shocked to find out that she was pregnant again with a “miracle baby.”
