Slopers flip cookies for Obama; fail to show up at peace rally

The two faces of Park Slope were fully on display on Sunday, as hundreds of empty seats showed up for an anti-war rally, but hundreds of dollars were raised at a 14th Street bake sale for presidential hopeful Barack Obama.

Though the crowd at the peace rally left a lot to be desired (like a crowd, for one thing), the Sroge family raised a whopping $600 for the Obama campaign.

Park Slopers gained a few pounds, and raised more than $600 for presidential hopeful Barack Obama at a bake sale on 14th Street on Sunday.

“The excitement was intense,” said Rebecca Sroge. “One guy was so excited, he gave us $100 for four cupcakes!”

The cupcakes, by the way, were marked to move at just 50 cents apiece.
