Thieves are this phone’s Sidekick

Need a Sidekick

Every crook needs a sidekick — a T-Mobile Sidekick, that is!

A hood snatched a teen’s purse on Fulton Street on Jan. 21 and got away with one of those sweet phones at around 5:15 pm at the corner of Red Hook Lane. He also got $20 and the girl’s Metrocard.

In an unrelated theft, a two-bit thug stole a 12-year-old’s Sidekick on Sands Street under the BQE on Jan. 19 at 5:15 pm — but the crook didn’t get far before cops collared him.

Easy pickings

In these desperate times, you have to keep an eye out for thieves — a lesson four people learned this week.

• A Park Sloper forgot her MacBook at the Jay Street subway station at 4:40 pm on Jan. 23 — and someone swiped it within 20 minutes.

• A woman left her purse at a Livingston Street courthouse around 2:20 pm on Jan. 21. Someone grabbed it and tried to use her credit cards.

• A thief grabbed a purse left on the counter of a Fulton Mall department store at the corner of Hoyt Street on Jan. 19 at 5:30 pm, and made off with $100.

• A man was pickpocketed as he shopped at a market on the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Bond Street on Jan. 20 around 3 pm. The crook scored $20.

Over the line

A thug stabbed a man after an argument about a spot in line on Duffield Street turned violent on Jan. 20.

The dispute started inside a building at the corner of Willoughby Street at 10:55 am, when the angry hood said, “I’ll see you outside.”

A few minutes later, the perp approached his victim on the sidewalk with a pocket knife, saying, “What now?” The assailant drove his blade into the 46-year-old’s back, then fled. Police are looking for the suspect, a 26-year-old Queens man.

No accounting

A nimble crook wiggled through an accountant’s bedroom window on Warren Street on Jan. 23 and walked off with a laptop.

The thief broke in sometime between 9:30 am and 6:30 pm, when the bean-counter was at work. When he returned to the unit, which is between Nevins and Bond streets, he found the window and front door open and his HP laptop gone.

Sable swiped

A thief stole a man’s Mercury off Adams Street on Jan. 19.

The white Sable sedan was taken from the corner of Front Street between 8 and 9 pm, the victim said.
