Woman talks thief into giving her stolen phone back

90th Precinct

Southside–Williamsburg

Victory is hers

A bozo snatched a woman’s cellphone from her hand on Leonard Street on June 13 — but she stood her ground and got her phone back.

The lady said she was near Devoe Street around 1:20 pm when the lummox came up behind her and snatched her cell out of her hand.

The clod jumped into a parked vehicle and tried to get away, but the woman stood in front of the car and demanded he return her property, and he eventually gave it back and drove off in an unknown direction, police said.

Kick off

A fiend stole two pairs of sneakers from a couple of teens at knifepoint at a Humboldt Street apartment building on June 17, cops said.

One of the victims said he and his pal were about to sell the shoes in the building near Boerum Street around 2:40 pm when the crook entered the hallway, pulled out the knife, grabbed the bag of kicks, and bolted.

The two kids chased the marauder toward Bushwick Avenue, but couldn’t catch him, according to a police report.

Attempted strangling

Cops cuffed a guy who they say tried to strangle a woman at his Scholes Street home on June 13, according to a police report.

The woman said she went to pick up her son from the residence near Manhattan Avenue at 8:20 am when the man pushed her down onto a bed and placed his forearm on her throat, pushing on her windpipe and making it hard for her to breath, police said.

The woman has scratches and redness on the right side of her neck, left side of her face, and her hands, the report said.

Teen violence

Three teen boys pulled a gun on another teen on Havemeyer Street on June 13, cops said.

The victim said the delinquents approached him on the sidewalk near Metropolitan Avenue at 3:35 pm, grabbed his arms, pointed a gun at him, and said, “Take out your pockets or we will shoot you,” but ultimately ran away without taking anything.

The victim said he has seen one of the kids around the neighborhood and school, cops said.
