Police cuff woman for alleged bug spray heist

Bug off!

Police cuffed a woman for allegedly stealing bug spray from a Henry Street supermarket on Sept. 8.

An employee told police that the suspect allegedly stuffed a bottle of bug repellant, along with tuna salad shrimp salad into her purse inside the store on the corner of Degraw Street at 7:07 pm before trying to flee.

Cops arrived at the scene and charged the 61-year-old woman with petty larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, according to police reports.  

Very angry orchard

Cops cuffed a teenager who allegedly got into a fight with a security guard after she tried to steal Angry Orchard ciders from a Smith Street pharmacy.

The security guard told police that the 16-year-old allegedly grabbed two packs of hard cider and a 12-pack of soda before attempting to flee the store near Warren Street, and when the security guard confronted her, she punched and kicked him. 

Police arrived on the scene shortly after and slapped the teen with robbery charges, according to police reports.  

Sock hawk

Police arrested a man for allegedly stealing a pack of socks from a Court Street pharmacy on Sept. 8.

An employee told police that the suspect allegedly took a $14 pack of socks from the store between First and Second places at around 2:30 pm and tried to leave the store without paying. 

Authorities arrived on the scene and arrested the man for petty larceny charges, according to police reports. 

Bike burglary

A thief nabbed a bike from Third Place on Sept. 8.

The victim told police that the bandit stole his $575 bike from between Clinton and Court streets, and made off with the two-wheeler, a bike rack, and a child’s seat.
