Borough fight fans will get a ringside seat at the most-famous amateur boxing competition in the country.
The Brooklyn Masonic Temple will host two of the preliminary rounds of the 82nd annual Golden Gloves slugfest, with one round taking place inside of the Clermont Avenue landmark on Tuesday, Feb. 24, and the second to follow a week later.
The opening bell rang on the competition on Jan. 28, starting 10 weeks of preliminaries that feature more than 900 men and women beating each other up in advance of the April 13 finals.
DUMBO’s Gleason’s Gym is sponsoring the two fight nights, and will send several of its own contenders inside the squared circle, said owner Bruce Silverglade (pictured).
Silverglade said the goal is to make Brooklyn a “one stop-shop for boxers and boxing fans alike.”
