Avid readers had better grab their library cards!
Four local libraries are expanding their hours of operation starting Oct. 4, as part of the Brooklyn Public Library’s service expansion.
• Brighton Beach Library will offer service six days a week with new Monday hours from 10 am–6 pm
• Homecrest Library will have weekend service on Saturdays from 10 am–5pm
• Kings Bay Library will have extended hours on Tuesdays from 10 am–8 pm
• Sheepshead Bay Library will offer service six days a week with new Monday hours from 10 am–6 pm
The libraries’ extended hours will be beneficial to community members of all ages, according to one elected official.
“These expanded library hours will be a huge asset to seniors and veterans, and, with the new school year in session, students and teachers can benefit from the additional times,” said Councilman Chaim Deutsch (D–Sheepshead Bay).
