Police are looking for a man they say severely wounded a woman he hit with his car and then fled after giving her a fake name.
The driver struck the 71-year-old woman while she was in the crosswalk between Quentin Road and E. 21st Street at 6:45 pm on Dec. 7, police said.
The man took the woman to her home, and then gave her false contact information before taking off without notifying police or emergency responders.
The victim, who suffered a fractured right leg in the incident later called the police herself and was rushed to New York Community Hospital for treatment.
Police released a surveillance photo of the absconding scoundrel, described as approximately 18-years-old, 5-foot-11, and driving a four-door, dark-colored sedan.
