One Family: Two Artists

Joan Eastmond will host an exhibition, “One Family: Two Artists,” consisting of paintings, prints, sculpture, and pottery of Rosalie and Robert Scott at her Brooklyn home, April 25-27 and May 2-4.

For 15 years, Rosalie, with Robert’s assistance, was an art administrator in Brooklyn’s Clinton Hill community. Rosalie organized a comprehensive art program with regular art workshops and art-related cultural trips, and established the Generation Art Gallery at what is now the Grace Harewood Senior Center.

Married for 47 years, viewers are given the opportunity to experience how Robert’s and Rosalie’s powerful familial bonds, which sadly ended with Rosalie’s passing after a long illness on November 20, 2005, fused to give birth to new artistic directions for both life-partners.

The show is organized into three sections: Early Works and Works Prior To Marriage; Family Fusion (Unexpected Influences) and Recent and Later Works.

The exhibition is at 342 Macon Street between Lewis Avenue and Marcus Garvey Boulevard. Gallery hours are Fridays, 6-9 p.m.; Saturdays, 2-8 p.m. and Sundays, 12-6 p.m.
