Better catch that midnight train to Bushwick — because there won’t be another one after it.
The Metropolitan Transit Authority announced this week that L-train service from the Lorimer Street to Myrtle-Wyckoff stations will be suspended on weekday nights, starting May 24 for the next two weeks — and replaced by the much-hated shuttle bus.
The subway shortfall starts tonight at 11:30 pm. Service will be out until 5 am the next day. And this will happen every weeknight until June 4, transit officials said.
Additional track work will continue through the month of June, though transit officials did not explain what kind of service disruptions would occur.
It is a fate that has met nearby lines such as the G train, which will have intermittent suspensions for the next few weekends, though the G train will be working next week when the L train is out.
According to New York City Transit, the L line is among the city’s busiest and fastest-growing subway tubes. The Lorimer Street station increased its ridership by 11.5 percent from 2008 to 2009, the biggest jump in the system.
