Get those red and green glasses ready — it’s 3D and Lutheran Medical Center has it. That’s 3D digital mammography technology. Breast tomosynthesis is the latest weapon against breast cancer. The new diagnostic gives radiologists the ability to identify and characterize individual breast structures without the confusion of overlapping tissue. And did Standing O mention that Lutheran is the only place in Brooklyn to have it (well it is)? The newest cancer-busting equipment joins the Lutheran family thanks to the hard-working City Council, including Speaker Christine Quinn and fellow Councilmembers Domenic Recchia (D–Coney Island) and Vince Gentile (D–Bay Ridge).
