Soon you can just kick your old electronics to the curb.
Rather than having to haul their old computers and televisions to specialized pick-up points across the borough, Southern Brooklyn residents will be able avail themselves of curbside e-waste collection as of Oct. 1.
The city’s Department of Sanitation has expanded the collection service to neighborhoods south and west of Prospect Park, where residents can make an appointment to have their electronic waste picked up from in front of their doorstep.
This service will allow for residents to safely dispose their old laptops, televisions, videocassette recorders, printers, keyboards, and more. But the special e-waste pick-up crews will not accept air conditioners, appliances, batteries, or fluorescent bulbs.
