July 9 at Dodd Stadium

The team with the most swings and misses finally put the bat on the ball when it needed to during Saturday night’s 3-2 over the Connecticut Tigers.

Connecticut led most of the game 2-0, but the Cyclones tied it up in the fifth, thanks to consecutive singles by Ismael Tijerina and Chase Greeneand, who were driven home by a Daniel Muno double.

Travis Taijeron put the Clones ahead in the top of the eighth, driving home Richard Lucas, who had doubled to start the inning.

All told, the Cyclones had 12 hits on the night — but still whiffed five times.

The Cyclones return home vs. the Auburn Doubledays at MCU Park [1904 Surf Ave. at W. 17th Street in Coney Island, (718) 449-8497] on July 13, 7 pm. For info, visit www.brooklyncyclones.com.
