Two people were injured on Aug. 6 after an out-of-control Nissan flipped over at the corner of Ocean Parkway and Avenue X — horrifying dozens as it landed on its roof on a busy pedestrian median.
Stunned witnesses said the crash took place at around 5:30 pm. The car reportedly was traveling at a high rate of speed on the rain-swept roadway before jumping the median.
That’s when the Nissan began to tumble, striking a tree before coming to a stop between Avenues X and W, witnesses said.
Paramedics removed both the driver and a passenger, taking them to Coney Island Hospital — which was just a few blocks away — for treatment. Their injuries weren’t considered life-threatening, police said.
No criminal charges had been filed against the driver as of late Monday.
