Hasidic community mourns crash victim

Mourners pack the thoroughfare as a hearse transporting the body of tragic Brooklyn Interstate 80 crash victim Avrohom Dovid Liberow, 10, passes by the worldwide headquarters of the Chabad-Lubavitch Hasidic Jewish movement, 770 Eastern Parkway, following burial rites at the Chabad of Flatbush, 1923 Ocean Avenue where the boy’s father, Rabbi Zalman Liberow, who is now fighting for his life, is the spiritual leader.

Dovid was returning home with his family from a wedding in Grand Rapids, MI, January 6, when the multi-vehicle accident occurred in Western Pennsylvania shortly before 10 p.m.

Miraculously, the youngster’s mother and three siblings were spared in the deadly collision which unconfirmed reports blame on freezing rain.

One of the other two fatalities was Crown Heights newlywed Pesha Leah Azouli, whose burial was conducted at Shomrei Hadas Chapels, 3803 14th Avenue.
