Head to the lawn for a summer of Starz

Town Square’s SummerStarz 2008 is just around the corner. The 2008 program will start July 9, so mark your calendars to spend 10 Wednesday summer evenings on the lawn in McCarren Park, Lorimer Street and Bedford Avenue in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn.

The program will start at 6 p.m. with a “Children’s Hour,” then segue into a live performance at 7:30 p.m. and movie at sunset. The 2008 schedule is as follows:

Polish Night, July 9: Children’s Hour with Town Square’s Music Partners; Polish American Folk Dance Company; Pan Tadeusz.

Kidz Night, July 16: Children’s Hour with the Greenpoint Toy Center; Opus Ditty and the Hoedown Gang; Ice Age.

Latin Night, July 23: Children’s Hour with Town Square’s Music Partners; Maquino Mono; The Mambo Kings.

Country Night, July 30: Children’s Hour with the Hamilton Dance Studio; JJ Appleton; Blazing Saddles.

Italian Night, August 6: Children’s Hour with the Brooklyn Public Library; Brooklyn-Queens Conservatory of Music; Rocky.

Girlz Night, August 13: Children’s Hour with the Hamilton Dance Studio; Miss Angelina and the Jersey Girls; Lara Croft: The Cradle of Life.

American Indian Night, August 20: Children’s Hour with the Brooklyn Children’s Museum; Roger Kuhn & Starlight; Last of the Mohicans.

Oldies Night, August 27: Children’s Hour with the Brooklyn Public Library; Ed Healy featuring Take 5; Back to the Future.

American Night, September 3: Children’s Hour with the Greenpoint Toy Center; New York’s Finest Jazz Ensemble; Grease.

TBD, September 10: Children’s Hour with PSC Judo for Kids; TBD; TBD. Bring a blanket and a picnic dinner.
