Fashion crime
Police cuffed a 28-year-old woman accused of trying to steal clothing from a Fulton Mall department store on Nov. 15.
An employee at the retailer between Hoyt Street and Gallatin Place told investigators he spotted the thief grabbing jeans, sweaters, a vest, socks, and boxers from displays — then attempting to remove security sensor tags from the garments.
The crook allegedly placed the bounty in a bag and attempted to leave the store without paying, according to documents from the District Attorney’s office.
Employees say they recovered the goods from the bag and discovered a pair of jeans with a hole in the spot where a security tag had been placed.
The suspect faces criminal mischief, petit larceny, and criminal possession of stolen property charges.

The crook snatched the goods at around 2 pm, but the victim happened to spot the perp standing outside his vehicle moments later and recovered his valuables, documents from the District Attorney’s office indicate.
The 40-year-old faces charges of petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.
