Mayor Mike Bloomberg takes his public service shtick seriously.
Hizzoner jumpstarted his third term by turning kitchen hand at the Park Slope Christian Help (CHIPS) pantry, 200 Fourth Avenue, where he helped dish out meals to needy boroughites as part of a citywide service tour.
The mayor followed his mitzvah with a walk to the subway station on Union Street where he rode the train to City Hall for his swearing-in ceremony.
